Honest clarity
Is this work right for you?
This isn't the right fit for everyone and that’s ok. Here's a straightforward guide to help you know whether RTT and HeartMath are what you're looking for right now.
A note on readiness: You don't need to have everything figured out before we speak. Many clients come with nothing more than a sense that something needs to change. That's more than enough to begin.
Not sure where you fall? The discovery call is the right place to explore this together, with no pressure and no assumptions. If this work isn't right for you, I'll say so honestly and point you toward something that is.
"Most people don't need more information about their stress. They need their nervous system to experience that something different is possible."
— Stephanie
What exactly is RTT — and how is it different from hypnotherapy?
Rapid Transformational Therapy was developed by world-renowned therapist Marisa Peer and combines the most effective elements of hypnotherapy, NLP, CBT, and psychotherapy into a single, highly targeted method.
Like hypnotherapy, RTT uses a deeply relaxed state to access the subconscious mind — the part of you where beliefs, habits, and emotional patterns are stored. But unlike traditional hypnotherapy, which often focuses on suggestion alone, RTT actively explores the root cause of an issue: where it came from, what belief it created, and how to permanently update it.
The result is faster and more lasting change than most people expect — often in 1 to 3 sessions rather than months or years.
Will I be in control during a session? What does hypnosis actually feel like?
Yes — completely. You are aware throughout the entire session. You can hear everything, respond to questions, and come out of the relaxed state at any point you choose. You are never unconscious, never out of control, and never made to do or say anything you wouldn't choose to.
The relaxed state used in RTT is similar to the feeling just before sleep, or the absorbed focus you experience when deeply engrossed in a film or book. Most clients describe it as profoundly restful — many say it's the most relaxed they've felt in years.
You cannot be made to reveal anything you don't wish to share. The subconscious is protective — it only allows access to what is ready to be seen.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients work through their presenting issue in 1 to 3 sessions. The number depends on the depth and complexity of what's being addressed — a single belief with clear roots may shift in one session; layered patterns built over many years may benefit from more.
Each RTT session also includes a personalised audio recording for you to listen to daily for 21 days, which supports and reinforces the subconscious work between sessions. This is an important part of the process — the brain encodes new patterns through repetition.
We assess together after your first session what, if anything, is needed next. You are never committed to more sessions than feel right for you.
What is HeartMath and how does it fit with the RTT work?
HeartMath is a research-based system developed by the HeartMath Institute that works with heart rate variability (HRV) — the communication rhythm between your heart and your brain. When these two are in coherence, your stress resilience increases, thinking becomes clearer, and your nervous system shifts from a survival state into one where growth and healing actually occur.
RTT addresses the subconscious belief driving the stress pattern. HeartMath gives you measurable, body-based tools to regulate your nervous system in real time — before, during, and after the deeper work. Together they address both the root cause and the ongoing physiological response.
Many clients find the HeartMath tools become a daily practice they use independently — a lasting skill, not a dependency.
Do sessions take place online or in person?
Both options are available. Sessions are offered online via video call and in person, depending on your location, preference, and what the session calls for.
Online RTT is just as effective as in-person — the subconscious doesn't distinguish between the two, and many clients actually find the familiarity of their own environment deepens the relaxation state. A quiet, comfortable space and a reliable internet connection are all that's needed.
Format is discussed during the discovery call so we can find what works best for you.
Is this evidence-based? Is there research behind it?
Yes. Both modalities are grounded in research. RTT draws from hypnotherapy, NLP, and CBT — all of which have substantial bodies of evidence behind them. The subconscious reprogramming approach aligns with what neuroscience tells us about how beliefs are formed and how the brain creates and breaks patterns.
HeartMath has over 30 years of peer-reviewed research behind it, conducted by the HeartMath Institute. Their studies on heart rate variability, stress, and coherence have been published in leading scientific journals and are used in clinical, military, and corporate settings worldwide.
This is not alternative therapy in opposition to conventional medicine. It is evidence-informed work that complements medical and psychological care.
I've been in therapy for years. Will this be different?
Almost certainly, yes — and many clients come precisely because they've found traditional therapy valuable but incomplete. Talk therapy is excellent at helping you understand your patterns, build insight, and feel heard. RTT works at a different level — it accesses the subconscious where the pattern itself is stored and creates change there, rather than working through the analytical mind.
The experience is less like a conversation and more like a guided inner journey. Clients often describe accessing memories, emotions, and connections they'd never reached through talking alone — and leaving with a felt sense of change, not just an intellectual understanding of it.
Previous therapy is often an asset, not a barrier. Many clients find RTT completes something their earlier work began.
What happens on the discovery call?
The discovery call is a free, 30-minute conversation — not a sales call. It's a chance for you to share what's going on, ask any questions you have, and for us to explore together whether this work is a good fit for where you are right now.
There is no pressure to commit to anything. If this isn't the right approach for you, I'll tell you honestly — and if I can point you toward something more suitable, I will.
Many people feel lighter just from the call itself. You're not obligated to do anything with that — but you're welcome to.
Still have a question?
Let's talk.
The discovery call is free, unhurried, and genuinely no-pressure. If this work is right for you, we'll know. If it isn't, I'll say so.
